At the moment, if the events.tsv files contain extra columns, they will be read and included to the annotations in the extras field.

However, writing is not possible to natively save the extras attribute.

This could be implemented by modifying the read_events function

Describe possible alternatives

One would have to extract the events form the annotations and use the events_metadata argument, which is not handy..

Option 2 would be to manually edit the events.tsv file which is even less handy.
