Hello everyone! I'm starting to explore and implement MCP servers at my company. Our intention is to expose our existing HTTP REST APIs to agents being created across the company. As the number of MCP servers grows, I'm concerned about the organization and governance of these MCP servers, and one of the first things we're doing is taking an inventory of them all.

As we build this inventory tool, I'd like to know if there's a standard way to describe these MCP servers and the tools and resources available on them. Something like the OpenAPI (also known as Swagger) specification for HTTP APIs.

I'm trying to create a custom specification to describe MCP servers, but it would be interesting if there were a standard initiative for this.

Does anyone know of any initiatives along these lines?
