Support mlflow registry

I would like to have support for models stored in the MLflow Model Registry when generating a modelfile.

Excpected result:

modctl modelfile generate --mlflow s3://path
modctl modelfile generate run://path

@aagumin I am not familiar with the MLflow registry. Is it compatible with OCI distribution? or do you just want to generate modelfile from it and build & push it to other registry.

@chlins No, it is not compatible. Yes, you are right — I would like to generate a modelfile and publish the image to a production-ready registry. This is relevant because after the research stage and logging the model’s results, we need to take the finished model and make it part of the production environment. However, it seems to me that MLflow does not fully align with this goal, although it is excellent for the experimentation stage. After that, I would like to use the model as an OCI artifact (with your CSI driver). If this is of interest to you, I could try to implement this.

Yes, I believe there is currently an active pull request to add support for HuggingFace and ModelScope. Once that is merged, you should be able to add MLflow support.
