Q: Hide Searchbar? Use Ecosia? Weather app?

I am not so experienced with githib and dont know of label is correct assigned.

I am a new neat user, but have a few questions with the setup.

Is there an option to hide the searchbar or to thange the search provider in my case i use Ecosia?,

Can i connect the weather notifications to an installed app or just the open meteo webpage, not a bog issue, just curious

Hi and welcome!

(1) You cannot hide the search bar, because I want it to be as quickly accessible as possible.

(2) You can add Ecosia as your default search engine, yes.

• Type something in the search bar (doesn't matter what, one character is enough)
• Then click on '⋮'. You will find the list of search engines.
• Pick one and long-press it (doesn't matter which one). A menu for editing the search engine will open.
• Rename to 'Ecosia'.
• Make the URL: https://www.ecosia.org/search?method=index&q=%s
• Check 'Default search engine'.
• Select 'Make New'.
• Hit 'OK'.

Ecosia should now be your default search engine.

(3a) You cannot select your Meteo service, it is part of the app, and for simplicity reasons and to keep my sanity in support, the app does not support widgets.

(3b) You can change what happens when you click on the weather info:

• Find your app you want to start and long-click it. The app info dialog should open.
• Click 'Pin'. The dialog to change the pinning to the home screen should open.
• Uncheck 'List', and check 'Click Weather'.
• Hit 'OK'.

Now when you click on the weather app, your selected app should open.
