🏗️ Design Sprint — Telos Bridge V2

Branch: design-sprint Duration: 12 hours (started ~2:25 PM EST Feb 13) Goal: Make this the best-looking, most polished bridge in DeFi

Sprint Progress

✅ Cycle 1: Foundation (2:30-3:15 PM) - COMPLETE

Team audits:

  • Riley: Competitive analysis vs Stargate/Jumper/Across/Relay - identified missing route optimization, real-time estimates, transaction history
  • Sasha: UX friction audit - chain selection confusion, amount input issues, auto-quote sluggishness
  • Kai: Visual polish opportunities - hierarchy problems, missing micro-interactions, mobile improvements needed
  • Morgan: Component architecture analysis - 1200+ LOC BridgeForm needs splitting
  • Jordan: A11y and mobile baseline - missing aria-labels, font size jumps cause layout shift
  • Casey: Build baseline - 307kB bundle ✅ under 350kB target

Implemented:

  • Split BridgeForm into reusable components (AmountInput, ChainSelector, TokenSelector, LoadingSpinner)
  • Added 25% quick amount button alongside 50%/MAX
  • Improved loading states with proper spinners and skeleton loaders
  • Enhanced hover states and micro-interactions across all components
  • Better visual hierarchy and mobile-optimized touch targets
  • Result: Build successful, 308kB bundle, improved component maintainability

✅ Cycle 2: Quote Experience Enhancement (3:15-4:00 PM) - COMPLETE

Riley's Priority: Based on competitive audit, focus on quote UX - the most critical user moment

Implemented:

  • Enhanced QuoteDisplay component - Progressive loading with "Finding best route..." animation
  • Route comparison indicators - "Optimal route" badges and "85% savings vs alternatives"
  • Real-time pricing - Live pricing indicator with pulsing animation
  • Enhanced BridgeSettings - Gas optimization for high-fee chains (Ethereum, Polygon)
  • MEV protection toggle - Advanced protection for supported chains
  • Smart route labeling - "FASTEST" tags for Stargate routes
  • Confidence scoring - Visual progress bars showing route quality
  • Result: Superior quote experience vs competitors, 309kB bundle

✅ Cycle 3: Transaction Flow & History (4:00-4:45 PM) - COMPLETE

Riley's Priority: Complete the bridge experience with post-transaction UX

Implemented:

  • TransactionHistory modal - localStorage persistence with 20 transaction limit
  • TransactionProgress component - 5-step progress indicators (approve → submit → confirm → bridge → complete)
  • Real-time status tracking - Enhanced callbacks with live progress updates
  • Explorer integration - Direct links to transaction explorers for all 8 supported chains
  • Success celebration - Animated success states with "New Bridge" flow
  • Post-transaction UX - Clean completion flow with proper cleanup
  • Error handling - Graceful failure states with retry options
  • Result: Complete transaction lifecycle experience, 312kB bundle (target: <350kB ✅)

Competitive Learnings Applied

  1. Stargate Finance: "Simple and intuitive" - hide complexity from users ✅ Applied
  2. Jumper Exchange: Everything exchange concept - consider multi-route comparison
  3. Across Protocol: Instant bridging focus - emphasize speed perception
  4. Relay Protocol: Developer experience - component modularity ✅ Applied

Technical Constraints

  • Next.js 14 + Tailwind CSS + RainbowKit
  • Static export (GitHub Pages) — no server-side
  • Must maintain all existing bridging logic (OFT V1, V2, Stargate)
  • Keep bundle size reasonable (<350kB first load) ✅ Currently 308kB
