Song Lyrics for MonkeyType

I am thinking of implementing lyrics of songs for typing in MonkeyType. Earlier, there was a website that done that (Lyrics Per Minute). But now, its closed. I am thinking of similar function implementation in Monkey Type. I think Musix Match API might be the one to select as Lyrics source, but I can also think of inserting lyrics by users might also be an option. What are your thoughts on this?

The implementation would be rather simple as a funbox, like the wikipedia one. Do you know any api that is free and legal to use?

Free and legal... I highly doubt I can find any one which features both. Either of them, there are plenty. But I think a community approach would be better. Any user with account can provide lyrics to a particular song, and other users will approve/edit those. And once minimum threshold of upvotes is reached, then that is available publicly. How about that? I know using API would be more easier to implement, but I have tried searching, but no results.
