Feature Idea: Custom Character Combination Generator (Random 2–5 char words from user-supplied set of characters) #6938
-
Hi! 👋 I’d like to suggest a feature that allows users to practice with custom-generated words made from characters they choose. The idea: User pastes a list of characters (example: a b c d e f g h i j k l m n 1 2 5 6 9 = [ ] ; ' / . ). The typing test generates random combinations of length 2–5 using only those characters. Words are displayed just like in normal typing tests. Why this would help: Lets typists practice focused characters, numbers, and punctuation. Great for programmers who want to simulate real-life coding scenarios. More effective than practicing one character at a time. How it could be implemented: Input box for custom characters. Options for minimum/maximum word length (default: 2–5). Works seamlessly with existing test modes. I think this feature would be super valuable for people trying to get faster with symbols and coding-style typing, not just normal words. Thanks for considering this idea! 🙏 |
