How to deal with multicast flood?

The network I'm in has a lot of multicast packets (game consoles, TVs, Windows SMB), and they choke the AP such that if I connect to it, I won't be able to connect another device, because the management frames and multicast etc. are all transmitted using the lowest speed of 6Mbps.
Any way to deal with it? Unfortunately, I rely on multicast as well (QuickShare, uses mDNS). Is there a way to raise the data rate of those multicast to 1200Mbps (the rate for other data packets)?

p.s. Seems like a tricky problem. The enterprise Wi-Fi here just blocks multicast entirely, only allowing them on Ethernet.

which could be quite an "ACK storm". So instead, FromDS multicasts have to be sent at a low data rate; using a simpler, slower, easy-to-decode-even-at-low-signal-to-noise-ratios modulation scheme, that can hopefully be received reliably by all the clients of the AP.

Enable IGMP querier (default off) for IGMP snooping (default on). For systemd netdev, add:

you need an igmp querier to have igmp snooping working.
default is open flood, until a igmp query is receive by nodes ips and an igmp response are sent to switch (then the bridge can create igmp group)

Without a querier IGMP... snooping will not work reliably.

Supposedly it can work without a queier but clearly not in my case.
