Universal Media Controller is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension is designed with privacy in mind and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
We collect NO data. This extension:
- Does not track your browsing history
- Does not collect any personal information
- Does not store any user data
- Does not transmit any information to external servers
- Does not use any analytics tools
The only data stored locally on your device is:
- Your extension settings (like hotkey preferences)
- Your last used playback speed
- Your last used volume level
All this data is stored locally in your browser and is never transmitted to any server.
The extension requires minimal permissions:
storage: Only used for saving your local preferencesactiveTab: Only used for interacting with media elements on the current tabhost_permissions: Required to work with media elements on different websites
We do not use any third-party services or analytics tools. The extension works completely offline once installed.
When the extension updates, it will only update the extension files. No data collection or transmission is involved in the update process.

We will update this privacy policy if we make any changes to our data handling practices. The latest version will always be available in our repository.
Since we don't collect any data, there's no personal information to access, modify, or delete. You have complete control over your local settings.
