Project status?

I read in some issues that it's hard to even get PRs reviewed and there is basically no development from Mozilla here - Is this project being abandoned, or what is the plan here? Any project member response would be appreciated.

I was hoping that this functionality gets merged into upstream, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

The project is still active. Mozilla developers are monitoring it in case of major breakages but there's no plan for new features at the moment. However, they recently started a research study (See #2802) so hopefully it could change in the (near) future.

I don't think it's a great sign if you have to lobby Mozilla to keep it alive, but at least there seems to be some effort being made - lets hope for the best - thanks for the response

I can confirm that it is active. It is fair Open Source. Everybody is welcome to contribute.

For example, even if I do not code but time to time I answer to people's issues and try to help them, find duplicates, link to original issues, point to documentation. My impression is that very often people do not try to check Wiki, old issues for information and just create new one. But it is just the same as for any other active Open Source project. :)

Separately I would like to say warm word in address of @dannycolin - he is the person who care most of all (to my mind).
