mpv ctrl+v

i know this is a small thing, but i would be great if you could just press ctrl+v in MPV regardless if if it's already playing an online video, rather then having to close and re-open, like if i'm pasting in a YT or Twitch url

You can try using the mpv-easy-clipboard-play script.

Download either the portable_config or the full mpv player via the mpv-build, then use Ctrl + v to paste files, folders, WebDAV links, or HTTP URLs into mpv and play them.

Ctrl+v is already bound to play the path in the clipboard. The question is unclear. If you mean to replace the playlist with the path in the clipboard instead of appending it you can just bind Ctrl+v loadfile ${clipboard/text}; show-text '+ ${clipboard/text}'.

The default behavior seems to only add the file to the playlist but doesn't play it immediately, and its functionality is rather limited. If you need more complex features, such as pasting folders or WebDAV, mpv-easy-clipboard-play offers better support.😀
