AWE32 or AWE64 recordings needed #1

Description

@mrbumpy409

Recordings of the songs on original hardware are needed for A) preservation of the music as envisioned by the composers and B) a reference by which to verify the accuracy of the SoundFont conversions to 2.01/2.04 spec compliance.

If you are able to provide recordings from an AWE32 or AWE64, your contribution would be greatly appreciated! Please follow these steps to ensure the sound is correct:

  1. Have the default AWE32 GM bank loaded into bank 0. If you have upgraded sample RAM, you could load the GS bank instead, though I'm not sure if any of the songs take advantage of the additional GS voices and drum kits.
  2. Load the song's SoundFont into bank 1, but be sure to use the SoundFont with ".OLD" at the end of the filename, as this is the original AWE32 version.
  3. Follow any instructions in the "Original Text File" section of the song's accompanying *.md file (e.g., which reverb & chorus to select). Otherwise, make sure that both reverb and chorus are enabled and set to default settings.
  4. Play the MIDI file and record the audio using presumably an external source, as the AWE32 cannot record itself, if I recall. Do not play the MIDI file version with ".OLD" at the end of the filename if it exists, as my fixes to the MIDI files will work on all platforms.

You can reply to this bug report with a download link to your recording(s) (Google Drive link, etc.). After I have successfully screened a recording for playback quality and accuracy, it will be uploaded to this archive within the artist's recordings subfolder.
