I wanted to check whether the library has been tested with ABC-type HUB75 panels.
We are working with a P2.5 module that uses an ABC configuration, and I am trying to understand if there are any known compatibility considerations or required configuration changes for this panel type.

Could you clarify whether ABC-type panels are supported with any MCU, or if additional adjustments are needed?

I'm not the author either, but I can say that yes, ABC-addressed panels are supported. For a more detailed answer, you'll need to know the chip types in your panel, as ABC panels are too vague definition..

So the panel that we have has the following ICs:

● (Type 1): ICND1065A (Qty: 48)
● (Type 2): HX6158HS (Qty: 8)

ICND1065 is a PWM type driver, unsupported by the library.
Moreover, at the moment I don't know of any DIY library that would work with this chip.

See Led driver compatibility table in DMD_STM32 library wiki. Every chip marked there as "Tested" can be used with this library.
Refresh rate is mostly depend on library code rather than of driver chip model.

So if i want a frame rate of 240Hz then it can be achieved with code optimization, and does the other chips limit the frame rate of the panel.

Some larger chains will not run fast enough from an ESP32,it just won't output fast enough (and then you need an rPi4 or FPGA card.
But if your CPU is fast enough, you can output faster than some panels can take input and then you have to slow down the output (this happens on rpi-rgb-panel driver with rPi4)

@marcmerlin @board707 okay so currently we have a ABC P2.5 Panel with ICND1065a ICs it is not listed at wiki-LED Drivers at DMD_STM32 so should we buy a new panel with the ICND2037/ICND2038 and the only limiting factor for achieving the higher frame rate is the data output rate from ESP to the panel.

The main limiting factor is the size of your data, i.e. width x height x color depth. The more pixels on your screen, the longer the transfer time will be. Most panels have a maximum clock rate of 20-25 MHz.

This imposes physical limitations. So, if you use a 128x64 panel with 24bpp color depth (8bit red, 8bit green, 8bit blue) - the maximum possible frame rate will about 150-200 Hz regardless of the panel and library type. And if you have a screen with two such panels connected in series - the frame rate will be half as low, so the data size has doubled.

To move forward, could you guide us on the specific panel configurations that are known to work reliably with the existing libraries?
In particular, it would be helpful if you could point us to:

• Recommended HUB75/HUB75E panel types
• Any specific panel models or configurations (IC combinations) that are confirmed to be compatible

We're looking to purchase a new panel that fits within those supported specifications, so any concrete guidance would be greatly appreciated.
