Aren't torch.stack and a 3D tensor similar

just a curious question---
As we're writing X=torch.stack()and then we're writing suppose T=torch.arange(3,2,4)
In the output that they look similar then what's the difference and why do we need torch.stack if both can produce the same output just by altering the dimensions of T a little bit
