Frequent crashes in glooptest

I would report these to the issue tracker for glooptest, but minetest-mods has it disabled in their fork. I did report it upstream of there (GloopMaster/glooptest) but that repository has been abandoned since 2015.

I've been seeing frequent crashes in othergen_module/init.lua in glooptest, with messages such as:

until this gets fixed, you can disable the othergen module in mods/glooptest/module.cfg

Since that file is part of the mod instead of being an actual setting, this would require us to patch the mod to change it. The workaround we've been using is to just patch out the bug instead.

When I was maintaining Dreambuilder, my "customize" script had a sed expression to patch the config file after the mod was added-in, though as I recall now, I disabled that component not because of this bug, but for speed sake.

it now uses luanti settings as of #1000 so you should be able to disable it
