Is there going to be a new release after this PR #2956? Currently I can only build against scryer-prolog/main as the latest release is way back

See #2936 for a list of things that should be addressed before the next release. As you can see, there's still quite a bit of stuff to be addressed, so I don't think there is going to be a release too soon. This is very unfortunate, because 0.9.4 is already reaching 2 years old. I think the release cadence should be way higher, but this big period between releases also allowed us to make a lot of good breaking changes that will be shipped together.

Yes, I agree, I prefer many small breaking changes than a big one. It's good in the sense that we will not have to update the major version many times consecutively, which I don't really care but other people in this project seem to have opinions about.

Oh, and most breaking changes are to the embedding API (using Scryer Prolog as a Rust library), not to the actual functionality of the Prolog engine or it's libraries (the user visible changes there are kinda like to the difference between 0.9.3 and 0.9.4), so I don't think this will affect too many people.

Are -rc releases an option? Risk-takers can pull the release candidate versions and the more stability-oriented users can just skip them
