Hello,

I am working in including polarities in the moment tensor estimation. In one example, I observed that the preferred moment tensor solution on the lune according to the misfit, is also the solution in the group ranging from 0 to 1 mismatch polarities. However, in the beachball polarity figure I see that one polarity does not match with the preferred moment tensor. Does this mean that the colormap mismatch intervals are closed? i.e., from zero to one mismatch, including one.

Probably would be better if the end point of the interval is excluded. Therefore is clearly identified the moment tensor solutions with exact zero mismatchs.

In one test with my own local dataset, I observed that the preferred moment tensor solution on the lune, according to the misfit, is also the solution in the group ranging from 0 to 1 polarity mismatch. In contrast, the beachball polarity figure shows that one polarity does not match with the preferred moment tensor.

This suggests that the colormap intervals for polarity mismatches are closed intervals, including the upper bound (e.g., the '0 to 1 mismatch' interval includes solutions with one mismatched polarity).

Excluding the endpoint would allow for a clear identification of moment tensor solutions with exactly zero mismatches.
