Instance types also can be classified by their purchasing options. They are as followed:
- On-Demand: For short workload, predictable pricing and pay by second.
- Reserved (1-3 years): Convenient for long workloads
- Saving Plans (1-3 years): Commitment to an amount of usage, long workload
- Spot Instances: They are cheap and losable instances. But useful for short workloads. It is less reliable so that not prefer to execute important workloads on it.
- Dedicated Host: Book an entire physical server
- Dedicated Instances: Your hardware can not share with other users.
- Capacity Reservations: Reserve capacity in a specific AZ for any duration
