Music Assistant

I'm interested in moving to Music Assistant from Lyrion, but one feature I really want/need is the ability to cast music to the system from my laptops and Android devices. With Lyrion I can configure it to expose DLNA receivers so I can send music from my Linux laptop (using e.g. pa-dlna) or from my Android phone (using e.g AirMusic). I'm trying to work out if Music Assistant can support this -- it looks like it can't, but I might have overlooked something? The closest info I can find is https://www.music-assistant.io/faq/stream-to/#music-assistant which seems to be aimed at folks wanting to take input from analog devices, and #2354 which seems pretty pessimitic about Chromecast support. Chromecast and Airplay would be very cool, but DLNA would be a huge add for MA (and a pretty much a must for me, to not lose the functionality I already have). Does anyone have this working, or is anyone able to say definitively that Music Assistant can't do this? Thanks! |

Just circling back to say I installed the beta version of MA to have access to these plugins, but neither plugin worked correctly and even the basic player functionality in MA was really buggy for me. The project seems to have good momentum, though, so I guess I'll check back in with it again another time. Thanks! |

I something similar to this when I am on my phone in Dashboard>Media (a screen oddly titled "Music Assistant"?). When I tap the little speaker icon I can see all of the usual speaker devices and my Aliem laptop Windows PC. I think having this same option inside MA would be super cool. Yes, I realize it's probably not that simple but it's cool to see that I can cast to a PC from HA on a mobile device. My 2 cents.
