Certain things are not updating

So I'm confused I've seen that in the last several updates rofi and the sidebar are different same thing with settings menu's but mine are still the old ones and i don't understand why they are not updating. Am i doing something wrong when i update? or do i just have to do a full blown reinstall every time something like this changes?
