SDDM broken

Hello I have been using ML4W dotfiles for months now and enjoying it quite a bit, suddenly in SDDM I am unable to change to a different desktop environment if I want, and clicking the power icon in the lower right corner does nothing. Typing my password in and hitting enter or clicking the arrow doesnt work most of the time to login either. It takes repeated attempts to get the GUI to work properly. I have had to switch to GDM for now in order to login and switch between Gnome and Hyprland. I have tried reinstalling SDDM and even running ml4w-hyprland-setup again but nothing changed.

This is interesting but I guess it’s not a dotfiles issue.

You can try to remove sddm completely incl the installation folders in your system and install it again.

Just change the theme. Sequoia has an issue with SDDM at the moment. Jak's dotfiles used it too and recently hit this issue He went back to "simple_2" theme to resolve it. The config file is often in /etc/sddm.conf.d You can install a new theme or see if there are other standard themes installed and set the theme=THEMENAME I.e. a common on is elarun That should resolve it. Or switch to GDM, etc.
