Bets way to change live control plane node machine type

Hi! I read the docs and various other resources here. I need to upgrade machine type behind control plane nodes in my cluster. This is because of resource usage we encountered. There are 3 control plane nodes in total.

I am wondering what would be the best, the most safe method to achieve this, for each node?

Looks like changing server type in tofu and tofu apply is enough to change server type for live machine. this is reflected by reported increased ram/cpu when checking node. Labels and annotations with machine type and/or region are, however, not updated if node was already deployed.
