[ISSUE] MIUI media tile doesn’t open app because MediaSession has no launch intent

When I press the media tile in my phone (redmi 12c) absolutely nothing happened

Expected Behavior

start playing the last played track from where it stopped last time in the notification s mini player without launching the whole app unless the mini player is pressed (like Musicolet)

i never had such issue, HyperOS 1 here
have u tried changing "On Notification Tap" option?

if you meant the home widget, there is a limitation that require starting the whole app first so it takes few second. namida is not a native app and thats why

I tried every option, it works sometimes when the app is already started, but it doesn't most of the time.

Here is the screen recording of the issue, I restarted my phone and tried to launch both apps through their notification tiles, only Musicolet started the notification mini player (without starting the whole app which is exactly what I wanted)

I prefer Namida because it's the most customizable and has the best interface imo. But this issue, along with the lack of dedicated skip x seconds forward/backward in the notification mini player is what stopping me from deleting all the other apps 😭

oh u meant that tile, consider that namida is not native android app and so we have to do some hacks to start playback, im not sure if it would always work. i suggest opening namida at least once after boot and just let it be in bg

as for skip x seconds forward/backward, its already there in player (but not notification yet), see this comment #852 (comment)

i'm actually experiencing a similar issue with my huawei p40 lite (JNY-LX1).

in the Control Panel, there's a dedicated music widget, but it only ever seems to detect Spotify and Huawei Music as actual ones. it doesn't even see namida as a music player. considering you already clarified that it sends a media intent, my possible guess for me is that it's something with EMUI's code. (i hadn't updated yet, so i'm still in version v5.3.9, which was 5 months ago as of writing this)

i think this is a different thing depending on what u mean by "control panel" (similar to dynamic island/etc), which requires the oem to include specific music apps manually

when the users taps play/etc from home widget or quick settings, we send a "media intent" request which should at very least open the app, maybe some blocking happens since when i tested on android 14 (hyper os1) the app is not opened, but as soon u open manually it starts playing (as if something was really blocking it)
(works perfect on android 11 custom rom)

TLDR: this is quite complicated and i dont have energy to deal with it, as said namida is not a native android app and these features were already not planned (due to complexity) but still worked on it. if it works then enjoy it otherwise it doesnt exist
