Explore possibility of a Maven equivalent plugin

Thanks for creating and maintaining this plugin. It's a very helpful tool.

I was wondering if there has been any consideration or if it would be technically feasible to develop a similar plugin for projects built with Apache Maven. Many large enterprise projects still rely on Maven.

Would this be something the project maintainers would consider, or are there significant technical hurdles within the Maven plugin ecosystem that might make this difficult compared to Gradle?

Thank you for your interest in our plugin and for this thoughtful suggestion! We really appreciate the feedback and understand the value this could bring to Maven users.

We unfortunately won't be able to pursue a Maven version of this plugin at this time. There are two main reasons for this decision:

1. Our team exclusively uses and specializes in Gradle, which allows us to maintain high quality and responsive support for our current plugin. Since we don't actively use Maven in our workflows at Netflix, we wouldn't be able to provide the same level of maintenance, testing, and support for the Maven community.

2. There are some technical limitations, particularly around Maven's dependency management capabilities. Our plugin heavily relies on Gradle's Artifact Transform feature, which doesn't have a direct equivalent in Maven. While there might be workarounds, they would likely result in a significantly different implementation that couldn't maintain feature parity with the Gradle version.

We want to be transparent about our limitations and ensure we focus our resources where we can provide the most value.
