neo-gui v 2.3.6458.21374 hasn't sync'd for years

Hi, I'm not sure how to bootstrap and/or change settings to sync with a(nother) network. I'm not particularly technical. The wallet hasn't sync'd since block 2394985 and the total blocks hasn't changed since 4224778. I read over the guidance I could find on github and reddit/r/neo but nothing quite seemed to match what I see on my version, so I was reluctant to try and fix it, fearing I would hose myself. For instance, the sub folders mentioned in posts are not the same as my client version. Can you give me some 'brain dead' simple instructions on what to do?

Also wondering if Neo will stake Gas in Ledger or Exodus wallets? I would be happy to move the tokens to a different wallet, but it would be nice to know the staking limitations.
