The file name is not restore_metadata.cypher and it is not located in the <NEO4J_HOME>/data/scripts/databasename/

This is the correct location and file name:
<NEO4J_HOME>/data/databases/databasename/tools/metadata_script.cypher

@jonaselreweny hi! The metadata_script.cypher file is generated during the backup process. (See the docs https://neo4j.com/docs/upgrade-migration-guide/current/version-5/migration/backup-databases/#_create_a_backup_of_each_database)

When you restore the database, the restore_metadata.cypher script should get generated and placed into the folder path noted in the migration docs for use.

This means we have two different files metadata_script.cypher and restore_metadata.cypher stored in different locations.

@NataliaIvakina the file is part of the backup file and is extracted from the backup as part of the restore process. I haven't tried out the upgrade migration guide you linked to. It is possible that the folder path is different when following that process but the docs page I raised this issue for is not specific to migrations:
