Doesn't allow mods folder as symlink anymore

When developing a mod, i like to create a symlink to the build file so I can just restart the game and try again. It looks like it's not possible anymore:

Failed to initialize the mod loading system and display.


Failure details:
File already exists: /home/eduardo/.var/app/org.prismlauncher.PrismLauncher/data/PrismLauncher/instances/1.21.4/minecraft/mods
You need to move this out of the way, so we can put a directory there.
