making 2D inp file from 3D scan data

Hi, I have 3 scan data using DCT . now I want to just model a slice of the sample and import the 2D INP in Abaqus. Is there any way to do this with Neper ?

Yes, it should be possible. To extract the slice, write your DCT volume as a tesr file, and then use -transform "crop(cube())" to isolate the 1-voxel thick slice, followed by autocrop,2d.

Here is an example:

neper -T -n 10 -for tesr
neper -T -loadtesr n10-id1.tesr -transform "crop(cube(-1,2,-1,2,0.5,0.55)),autocrop,2d" -o slice
neper -V n10-id1.tesr -print volume
neper -V slice.tesr -print slice

thank you, it worked but it is just a slice in 3D not 2D. B y choosing Z thickness so small it seems it convert to 2D. but I could not mesh it by below command :neper -M slice.tess -rcl 0.56 -dim 2 -format msh,inp -elttype quad
