Updates

First, an overview of Fiber’s current state & 2026 outlook.
Fiber is now protocol-complete and has been extensively tested in multi-node, multi-hop network scenarios. Recent work focuses on hardening the system based on real-world testing, while this year’s priorities include wallet integration, practical demos, and exploring liquidity designs.

• Fiber v0.6.1 has been released 🥳
  • Resolved unstable and performance issue, fixed expiry and invoices bugs
  • Upgraded mainnet contract

New Features

• One-way channels & trampoline routing

First draft implementation is completed, now in testing: #1012

Design highlights:

• Two-layer onion packet forwarding
• Forwarding hops create payment session and retry on failure

Improvements & Fixes

• Implemented persistent storage for CCH (Cross-Chain Hub) order: feat(cch): implement order persistence and housekeeping #1045

• Researching payment status update mechanics during on-chain settlement
