Most of the time apps always exit no issues firejail --noprofile --net=none echo write.
firejail version 0.9.78
Parent pid 432866, child pid 432867
Base filesystem installed in 0.06 ms
Child process initialized in 29.39 ms
write
Parent is shutting down, bye...
Sometimes apps usually longer running ones like firejail --noprofile --net=none nvim don't exit. I quit nvim after Child process initialized and instead of seeing Parent is shutting down, bye... it is hanging. I have to press CTRL+C which you can see and it shows Parent received signal 2, shutting down the child process... and Child received signal 2, shutting down the sandbox... before Parent is shutting down, bye....
firejail version 0.9.78
Parent pid 424749, child pid 424750
Base filesystem installed in 0.10 ms
Child process initialized in 41.23 ms
^C
Parent received signal 2, shutting down the child process...
Child received signal 2, shutting down the sandbox...
Parent is shutting down, bye...
It only happens sometimes so I can't isolate when. Maybe it's because of some background process still running in nvim? Is it something that --deterministic-exit-code or --deterministic-shutdown can help or is there better way to do it?
I know firejail isn't right for all cases but it works perfect for everything I use just this one problem.
