v3.4 Beta - Global search - not finding items (mac address)

So maybe this is my ignorance on how this new global search implementation goes. But I would expect if this is now searching every field I should be able to search on anything and have some kind of result return.

For instance, how do I search for a MAC address? I went to the demo beta site and added a MAC address to one of the VM's interfaces. I then went to the global search and typed in part of the MAC address. Zero results.
So then I tried to search for the entire MAC address exactly how its displayed xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx and I still got zero results.

What fields is this global search actually looking through?
