What would be the best way to describe tenant dependencies?

Hi,

I've got a device that has tenant A that is installed in a rack that is owned by tenant B (and to make the example a bit more complex) in a site owned by tenant C. What would be an easy way to see that

• When I select rack (tenant B) I know I will also be impacting a device owned by tenant A
• When I select Site (tenant C) I know I will also be impacting a device owned by tenant A and a rack of tenant B

We had a site failure and when my boss asked me what tenants were impacted it took some time for my boss (I was on vacation).
I did it with select all devices with rack X Y Z in Site A and list tenants in the table view.

So now my boss wants the be able to see at site/ location/rack level what tenants there are (collection of all tenants in site/rack/location/devices hierarchy)

Some options I considered:

• Tags: Run a script that scans every device an creates a tenant tag and applies it upward. device -> rack -> location -> site -> region. This is do-able and when you select the "tags" section you get a nice overview what a tenant is "dependent" on. Downside is that I also need to clean up tags if something changes
• Create a custom report that does the same thing on the fly. Downside; not very present in the GUI so not as "boss friendly".

Any thoughts/advice on this?
