Modules in modules?

I know... this exact topic already exists and the thread is solved - but my problem is slightly different.

I have a core with module slots, where I can install e.g. a module with slots where I can either install a 1x40GE or a 4x10GE transceiver module - I startet with the device and added a module bay - now I created a module and wanted to create 2 module bays within this module to be able to add the transceivers... but... a module can't have a module bay...

Then I read it's not supported - so I tried different approaches and ended up with having the module bays for the transceivers directly attached to the device and the modules with the slots for the transceivers added as Inventory Items to the device (not being able to assign them to all (only one supported) the corresponding interfaces - so they're just hanging there without a connection to their slots).

Any suggestion on how to have this done the right way?
Or will there be a "module in module" support (which would be my preferred option :-D) or at least the possibility to add more interfaces to an inventory item (would be ok as well) in the near future?
