Issue Upgrading to latest release

I am trying to upgrade Netbox from 4.3.6 to 4.4.0 and when I try to fetch the latest versions via git I get the following error message.
fatal: couldn't find remote ref refs/heads/master
Has anyone seen this before?

We recently deleted the old master branch, which hadn't been updated in 6+ months, but that shouldn't cause any issues upgrading as main is now the primary branch. What was the specific command you ran?

I ran sudo git fetch --tags

not sure if this helps at all. but

if you see the latest 4.3.6 version

• then
  cd /opt/netbox
  sudo git config --unset-all remote.origin.fetch
  sudo git config --add remote.origin.fetch '+refs/heads/:refs/remotes/origin/'

git tag | grep 4.4
v2.4.4
v3.4.4
v4.4.0
v4.4.0-beta1

works for me ....

and this is my bash script for update

cd /opt/netbox/
#sudo git checkout master
#sudo git pull origin master
git fetch --tags
sudo git checkout v4.4.0
sudo ./upgrade.sh
sudo systemctl restart netbox netbox-rq

sudo git config --unset-all remote.origin.fetch was all I had to do to be able to do a sudo git fetch --tags without issue. Adding the remote origin line would cause the error: fatal: invalid refspec '+refs/heads/:refs/remotes/origin/'

Same issue. I replaced master for main in the config and it worked.
