A simpler alternative for three topics must be discussed.

While the current version of the document tries to solve the general case, the acutal problem is much simpler. The request we had in Swisscom from our the resouce monitoring solution: "split periodical stats from state changes that needs immediate actions". For periodical statistical data it's okay if the network assurance system is a bit slow ingesting it, however, the state changes (interfaces up/down, peering up/down) those requires immediate actions/alerts. Thus they wanted it in a different topic.

I would propose to include a language more clear that says we can split the message on the subscription type to: "statistics", "states" and "state-changes". No complications about topic compaction, no complication about topic names, etc.. just simple, cheap, and clean solution that solves an immediate problem.
