Open to other devices such as PABXs and SBCs?

Hi everyone, just wanting to know if this project is open to pull requests for devices such as PABXs and Session Border Controllers (infrastructure used in telephony networks) such as Alcatel OXE 4400s and Audiocodes SBC. There is already some support for Cisco SBCs (CUBE) but they are just an ISR running voice services so it is less of a leap away from "networking".

This is going to be a question for the maintainers at NTC.

Does Netmiko have support for the Alcatel OXE and Audiocodes devices?

(Generally the included platform names mirror those over at Netmiko. Though a person does not have to be using Netmiko to use ntc-templates. 😅)

I see AOS and SROS in the Netmiko platforms doc, but not OXE or Audiocodes.

Though there is an Audiocodes page for Netmiko (and a YT video leveraging an Audiocodes Gateway ... though the video indicates there is not dedicated support).

I don't have experience managing OXE and Audiocodes/Mediant so I'll ask some basic questions.

1. What types of commands and raw output are you thinking of parsing?
2. Does one or both of those devices have API support (ex: Netconf/Restconf)?

I see, I didn't realise this library was partnered with netmiko (I use it as part of Scrapli)

Audiocodes is less of a requirement as you can set it up to output in json format, but it seems to be hit and miss on which commands actually output json. (example show system version seems to not allow json.

The relationship may not be "partnered", but here's what the docs say:

Note

"The vendor name must be valid from the os_choices tests, which is primarily based on Netmiko list of supported vendors. New vendors added should adhere to vendor_os."

Seems to be the case for which commands have a json option for the traditional NOSes too! 😀
