I've converted this to a question, as you haven't given us enough information above.

Which backend are you using (Xorg/Xvnc) ?

If it's Xorg, check the following:-

• you've built and installed xorgxrdp
• you've replaced param=Xorg in /etc/xrdp/sesman.ini with a platform-dependent string (instructions in file)

If it's Xvnc, check you've got a VNC server installed.

I follow this guild to make and install xrdp and xorgrdp on my opensuse
and i try to replaced param=Xorg in /etc/xrdp/sesman.ini with a platform-dependent string (instructions in file) :
on my opensuse,

@chantsing - I owe you an apology for misleading you.

I've just had a play with a Tumbleweed system, and it seems you don't need to have anything other than param=Xorg. Most other platforms use a wrapper in /usr/bin/Xorg which calls a script which prevents non-console users from running the X server It seems SuSE doesn't work like that, so param=Xorg should be fine.

Have you also built and installed xorgxrdp ? You'll need that to get the Xorg backend working.

Yes, i built and installed [xorgxrdp], before i build and install xrdp and xorgxrdp, i use zypper to rm old version of xrdp 0.9.26, The result is all systemd unit ( xrdp.service and xrdp-sesman.service ) and config file ( xrdp.int, sesman.int ) in /etc/xrdp are removed, So i had to backup all the old file, and to recovery it for the builded version 0.10.8, May the config of version 0.9.26 are not suited for the new version 0.10.8. So how to fix it ? Can you provide it from your compute ?
oh, i see. building and installing will auto release systemd unit and config file, i rm the old version xrdp del it.

The only sensible ways to address this is to use a different user for xrdp. systemd --user is not designed to work with two graphical sessions in the same user.

I think you are misunderstand, On WSL, i just use window Terminal to start linux, and not access to graphical interface.

I'm not at all familiar with WSL, as it's largely been replaced now with WSL2, but it looks to me like there are two X servers associated with the user. Or, more accurately, Xorg is running for xrdp and Xwayland is running on the console.

After using xrdp to connect OpenSUSE on WSL2（The Version of xrdp is 0.10.8, which is built by source code. ）
Xfce Notify Daemon will pop as a seprated window. the error notification is:
Your Wayland compositor does not support required protocol wlr-layer-shell
But, i use kali linux on WSL2，Use the defult Version of xrdp is 0.9.26, and the desktop is xfce4.20.
Xfce Notify Daemon will not popup.

Well, there's only one X server running.

I can't explain what's happening, but my guess would be there's something in the XFCE configuration which doesn't like moving between Wayland and the X server. You could try disabling the Xfwm compositor to see if the message goes away.

This particular error should be fixed in the build you have, I think. Version 0.10.8 is not a valid version though. What do you get for git show HEAD --format=short in the xrdp root directory?
