Conduct comprehensive discovery and evaluation of feature flag frameworks to recommend a solution that meets our current and future needs for progressive delivery, experimentation, and operational control.
Problem statement
We currently lack a robust feature flagging system to support:
- Safe, gradual feature rollouts
- A/B testing and experimentation
- Quick feature toggles for incident response
- Environment-specific configurations
- Reduced deployment risk and faster iteration
Primary Goals
- Define evaluation criteria
- Identify 3-5 viable feature flag solutions (SaaS, open-source, or build)
- Evaluate options against defined criteria
- Provide the team with a clear recommendation with justification
- Estimate total cost of ownership for top candidates (hosting or subscription)
