HBase: Failed construction RegionServer #8

@jacklove2run

Description

@jacklove2run

When execute start_hbase.sh in master node, I got the error in regionserver nodes:

Failed construction RegionServer hbase.regionserver.hostname.disable.master.reversedns and hbase.regionserver.hostname are mutually exclusive. Do not set hbase.regionserver.hostname.disable.master.reversedns to true

I noticed the hbase-site.xml in hbase/1.2.6/hbase-site.xml is like this:

  <property>
      <name>hbase.regionserver.hostname</name>
      <value>HOSTNAME</value>
  </property>
  <property>
      <name>hbase.regionserver.hostname.disable.master.reversedns</name>
      <value>true</value>
  </property>

The document of hbase says the two options are mutually exclusive: HBase 2.0 Reference Guide

hbase.regionserver.hostname.disable.master.reversedns
Description
This config is for experts: don’t set its value unless you really know what you are doing. When set to true, regionserver will use the current node hostname for the servername and HMaster will skip reverse DNS lookup and use the hostname sent by regionserver instead. Note that this config and hbase.regionserver.hostname are mutually exclusive. See https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-18226 for more details
