Is it possible to squash commits using git filter repo?

Git rebase does not update replace refs, because of that I want to use git filter repo

I want to do something like this:

# Define the commits
PARENT_COMMIT="$(git rev-list --max-parents=0 HEAD)"
COMMIT_TO_SQUASH="c312266"

# Start the rebase
GIT_EDITOR="true" GIT_SEQUENCE_EDITOR="sed -i -e '/^pick $COMMIT_TO_SQUASH /s/pick/squash/'" git rebase -i $PARENT_COMMIT --autosquash

Or at lease add hash of original commit to each commit at first my call of git filter repo?
