git filter-repo stuck at writing reports to .git\filter-repo\analysis

Hi Team,
i ran git filter-repo --analyze , the analysis got completed but it's stuck at writing reports stage for nearly a day. The analysis folder is empty and i have tried multiple times in 2 different machines. Couple of months back in end of june, I was able to generate report in hours without any issue. Would really appreciate some help around here.

For D:\ it goes on infinite loop as os.path.dirname gives same result for drive letters in windows. Couple of months back this didnt happen, is it possible that some new files get added in git that could have led to this.

this fixed it, but unable to know rootcause of how drive letters come inside git history since i assume git uses relative path. can i raise this as PR
