Keycloak with public auth flow?

I see that in the docs there is the following tip:

Create an openid-connect client in Keycloak with "confidential" as the "Access Type".

It's not clear from this information if this is a requirement. Before we invest time in migrating to NextAuth, it would be very helpful to know if we can expect the library to function properly with a public flow.

Is this possible? Are there any problems with this approach that we should consider at the outset?
