Unexpected character error in script block

I have a following script block (pretty much identical to nf-core-atacseq) but I keep getting an error

I don't understand what is it that I am doing wrong. I replaced script with shell or exec and even with single quotes and in either case I get same error.

Can you highlight where is line 485, column 19 in your code?

it's weird that backslash before -f, I mean multiqc . \-f $rtitle. I suspect some hidden char copy & pasting that snippet of code
