Thankfully more and more universities now operate proper WORM (write-once-read-many) storage solutions for actually archiving data. The quiz archiver plugin should be able to automatically or manually upload created archives to such a storage.
Many systems support the S3 protocol for uploading files. However, the implementation should allow to be extended to use various protocols (e.g., SFTP, FTPS, ...).
It should be configurable if archived files remain in the moodledata storage after pushing to the respective remote. Pulling from the connected storage is not part of this feature request for now.
