This guide covers working with The Game Crafter and more specifically working with their templates: Game Crafter Printed Components
This is a no brainer. Download the PNG template from the Game Crafter web site.
I highly recommend rotating the template image if you want to create a card with a different orientation than the default. If you do not you will have to rotate the Template in a CardMaker Element and I highly recommend NOT doing that!
Set your Layout to be the exact size of the Template.
Add a new Element that is a Graphic type. This Element should be the top-most Element in the Layout Control window. Set the Element size to match that of the image. An easy way to do this is to click the Set Size To Image button. Set the opacity of the Element to 128 (really anything is fine, just not 255). Also be sure the X/Y values of the Element are 0. Now you can toggle the Template by double-clicking the Element in the Layout Control window.
In most recent experience The Game Crafter would not recognize your cards as the correct size if they are rotated.
In the Project window you can righ-click the Layout and select Configure Layout Export... In the settings dialog you can configure the desired rotation (clockwise) on export. Now you can produce files oriented the way The Game Crafter will recognize.
