Our native prototypes have included some empty state screens. On these, we've used icons with centre-aligned text.
This follows a design convention of having centre-aligned content on empty state pages. Doing so creates empty space on the screen to help convey that the page is empty.
We should keep exploring how this would fit with NHS guidance on using left-aligned text for accessibility reasons.
