Add flashlight button to cannula insertion checker screen for Omnipod

When replacing a spent Omnipod, at the cannula insertion confirmation screen, I almost always end up opening the flashlight to illuminate the Omnipod display window in order to better see the blue cannula. Doing so requires going out-of-app, which can cause problems. I've come to rely on this more and more as I've gotten older and my eyes have gotten worse, especially after having to get reading glasses.

Describe the solution you'd like

I'd like to add a button to the check cannula screen that allows the flashlight to be toggled on and off.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Normally, I end up pulling down the control center to activate the flashlight. That can cause unintentional taps on the cannula confirmation screen, and is awkward on larger phones when only one hand may be available. There are no other alternatives to easily toggling the flashlight.

These are emulator screenshots. I am not a UX designer, and would be happy to have help with UX.

Technical Details

Code would test for the availability of the flashlight and include the button dynamically. (I have this code working.)

User Impact

Tens of millions of people the USA alone over the age of 45 have diabetes. Over 90% of adults over age 45 have presbyopia (age related difficulty focusing on near objects). My personal, anecdotal experience requires some assistance checking the cannula in darker conditions because of presbyopia, which millions of other diabetes patients experience as well.

Isn’t this something that needs to land on OmniKit, OmniBLE respectively and can then be pulled in to Trio? The UI you show in your screenshots and the enhancements you are planning are not really something Trio controls, but rooted in a submodule we (and Loop and other apps) use.

@dnzxy correct - I was told to file a ticket here first, then submit a PR to OmniBLE and reference this ticket. Once OmniBLE is accepted, copy to OmniKit, then a PR will be submitted here referencing this ticket pulling in the updates to OmniBLE/OmniKit.

Just cleaning up code, will have a PR to OmniBLE later this week hopefully.

I‘m not sure why you need to create a ticket here first and who told you that, as this is not really something in our control (as laid out in my comment), but if it helps you "move along" your use case over at the OmniXXX repos, feel free to use Trio as a starting point 😅
