libinput error: your system is too slow

I've been getting lots of these messages for both the kb and mouse:

Sometimes the mouse cursor stutters a bit, but other than that the system seems ok.
Any idea what I can do to find the origin?
The GPU is an AMD and I am not using VRR, if that helps. CPU usage seems normal, when moving the mouse a lot between windows it goes to 4 or 5% but not more. Memory usage seems normal too (around 340M for niri).

It is exactly as it sounds, something is causing your computer is slowdown enough to not process events fast enough

Generally you don't need to worry about this unless it becomes an issue

But how do I find out what is causing it?
It does not happen when using sway. I also noticed sway does not have the same cpu spikes when moving the mouse, could it be related?

Yea I saw that one, but I never had spikes over 6% so I didn't think it's the same issue. Also no one mentioned the libinput error.

Maybe I'll try niri-git anyway, if it does not solve it and there's nothing I can do to diagnose I'll just go back to sway because I suspect this will be an issue when gaming...

Do you mean VRR/FreeSync? It is disabled because it creates some flickering with my monitor above 120Hz.
I read that faq, unfortunately it also gives me no clue on how to find the source of the stuttering...
I'm thinking it is niri related because it only happens with niri, the libinput error seems to be just a side effect of something else.
