switch to Determinate Nix #484
Description
I'd like to propose this, but I work for Determinate Systems, and so I'd like to let anyone dissent who would like to.
This is mostly about being able to utilize features like this: NixOS/nix#13574 which are already merged and released in Determinate Nix (DeterminateSystems/nix-src#134).
I'm not sure how long to let this sit. I think this issue to start/sit for a couple weeks, then maybe a PR for another couple of weeks. I suppose if it's an issue we can revert it, but I do hope it's not too big of a deal.
