Migrating Azure Collection to make Process model from XML to Inherited.

Hi,
I'm trying to find out the way to make my collection (XML process) to Inheritance model cause Azure DevOps server 2020 doesn't offer this functions. ( https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/Bring-inherited-process-to-existing-proj/614232?space=22&entry=suggestion )
When it comes to Azure DevOps Service it's possible to change process model from xml to Inheritance model, but DevOps server doesn't. (I already looked up this solution, but it is only for Azure DevOps Services : #917 )
So I'm trying to clone all the workitems to a new collection that has a inherited process. Would it be working?

This is possible.

• If you haven't modified your XML process and you inherited process model is based on the same process (i.e. scrum -> scrum) it should work out-of-the-box
• If you have added fields, states, ... you have to apply these changes to your inherited model and/or reflect those changes in the config
• If you want to move to a completely different inherited model (cmmi -> scrum) you have to detail all changes in your config
